Numerical methods exploiting the lattice regularization of the path integral formulation provide one of the most natural approaches to studying the non-perturbative domain of quantum field theories. While the development of progressively more powerful machines is a necessary element to foster advancements in this field, it is essential to accompany this process with the development of efficient algorithmic techniques for lattice field theory.

The numerical accuracy that is by now achievable in state-of-the-art simulations has revealed several long-standing problems that are currently the main bottlenecks hindering significant further developments in lattice studies of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). These include critical slowing down when approaching the continuum limit or near critical points, the exponentially growing noise-to-signal ratio affecting the large-distance behavior of correlation functions, and the ill-conditioned inversion of the analytic continuation of physical observables from Minkowski to Euclidean time.

This workshop aims at gathering both expert investigators and early-stage researchers to present the current status of algorithmic strategies that address these fundamental problems.
